Brene BrownThere are so many posts, including mine, that are all about self-help, and encouraging you to live a better, healthier life. But today, I wanted to do something different. I wanted to encourage you to learn to love yourself!

Here are a few tips to get you thinking about yourself in a more loving way!

  1. Talk to yourself as though you talked to your most favorite person- whether that’s a loved one like a child, spouse or best friend! Often we encourage others, but talk bad about ourself. It’s time to stop the negative self talk, and if that seems hard- remember how you talk to those you love and talk to yourself in that same way!
  2. Start the day with positive affirmations about yourself. Look in the mirror every morning and say things that help you feel better about yourself. If you’re insecure about parts of you, say out loud how you love that part of you. Fake it ’til you make it! The truth is you are beautiful, unique and special and deserve the life of your dreams!
  3. Get a close friend or loved one to hold you accountable! Share your new challenge of loving yourself with a friend. Ask them to help you start any negativity that you say about yourself (or others). Make a change once and for all to love yourself and also those around you!
